چکیده

We argue that in cuprate physics there are two types, hole content per CuO2 plane (Ppl) and the corresponding hole content per unit volume (P3D), of holedoping concentrations for addressing physical properties that are two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) in nature, respectively. We find that superconducting transition temperature (Tc) varies systematically with P3D as a superconducting “dome” with a universal optimal hole-doping concentration P opt. 3D = 1.6 × 10 21 cm for single-layer high temperature superconductors. We suggest that P opt. 3D determines the upper bound of the electronic energy of underdoped single-layer high-Tc cuprates. PACS numbers: 74.72.-h, 74.25.Fy, 74.25.Dw Submitted to: Supercond. Sci. Optimal SQUID based non-destructive test for detecting sub-surface defects with the help of advanced SQUID superconducting sensors and an experimental approach for optimal production method of these sensors from the YBCO superconductor materials

The conventional eddy current method for non-destructive inspection of welding joints has limitations that can examine defects to a certain depth below the surface of the sample and is not suitable for determining deep defects. This limitation can be overcome using the SQUID superconducting sensors. The nonstoichiometric composition of YBCO due to its superconducting temperature and desired cri...

Nature of the Order-disorder Transition of the Vortex Matter in Weakly Pinned Superconductors

Peak effect in weakly pinned superconductors represents order-disorder transition of the vortex matter. It is accompanied by metastability. Experimental manifestation of the metastability is highlighted and is explained by proposing a phenomenological model, in which each metastable vortex state corresponds to a distinct critical current density J c . Existence of a unique stable state correspo...

Superconducting properties of iron chalcogenide thin films.

Iron chalcogenides, binary FeSe, FeTe and ternary FeTe x Se1-x , FeTe x S1-x and FeTe:O x , are the simplest compounds amongst the recently discovered iron-based superconductors. Thin films of iron chalcogenides present many attractive features that are covered in this review, such as: (i) easy fabrication and epitaxial growth on common single-crystal substrates; (ii) strong enhancement of supe...
